Community Service

We actively support our local community by contributing to various service programs. Most programs are ongoing throughout the year.

Breast Cancer Support Services of Berks

Over the course of the year our members sew pillowcases and other handmade support items to include in care packages for those diagnosed with breast cancer. This effort has been ongoing for years with over 850 pillowcases contributed. Learn more at bcssberks.org

Quilts for Kids

Quilts for Kids is a national program that provides quilts to comfort children facing serious illness, trauma, abuse, or natural disasters. Over 100 quilts have been contributed so far.

Pediatric Pillowcases

To brighten the spirits of little ones, fun and whimsical pillowcases, lovingly created and collected. Each pillowcase brings a splash of joy and comfort, creating a cozy environment for children in the Hershey Pediatric unit.

Reading Hospital

Members have lovingly sewn over 50 neonatal bereavement gowns and other compassionate items to support families in the NICU during a most difficult time. Additionally, they have created 460 eyeglass cases and 40 eye masks for patients, ensuring comfort and care when it’s needed most.

Stockings

In 2023, Guild members dug deep into their fabric stashes to create more than 420 stockings filled with goodies and comfort items, spreading joy to the residents of Berks Heim nursing care.
