Berks Quilters Guild

Berks Quilters Guild is affiliated with the National Quilting Association (NQA Chapter #PA 441). Membership is capped at 150 members due to the space available for meetings, so there is a waiting list of quilters for membership. There are two types of membership: Full and Associate.

Full Membership -- To be a voting member in good standing, a member must attend a minimum of three meetings per year and must participate once a year in any one of the following four activities: Provide refreshments, participate in a community service project, serve on a committee and/or work at the quilt show.

Associate Membership -- A voting member may at any time elect to become an “associate member” by giving notice to the membership chairman. Associate members receive the newsletter; may attend two meetings per year, may attend workshops, field trips and other activities if space permits, and may participate in the quilt show. It does not include the right to vote or to participate in the lending library, block-of-the-month or challenge. Only current members may become associate members. An associate member may request to be reinstated to full membership without being put on the waiting list. Should this request exceed the 150 cap membership number, no new members will be taken into membership from the waiting list until such time as the 150 membership cap falls below the capped number.

Our meetings are held at Bern Luthean Church off 183 North of Reading. Any committee that has a display area to set up should arrive as close to 5:45 as possible. The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m.

Directions to Bern Lutheran Church, 820 W. Leesport Rd. From 222 (Road to Nowhere) take 183 North. Turn left at the traffic light at West Leesport Road (the first traffic light AFTER you pass over the 222 overpass). The church is visible from 183.
