August Meeting:
Sit & Sew -
Project Night
The August meeting was a "bring a project to work on" night. These committee members got together for a "meeting of the minds" |
During this fun evening, many different events took place......serious discussions were held...... |
.....as well as friends gathering together happily stitching on projects and enjoying one another's company |
Sandi not only found time to hand quilt, but also brought along a tea setting to get everyone's curiosity piqued for the upcoming Holiday Tea Party |
Talking and sewing with friends.....it doesn't get much better than that! |
Diane and Elyse caught in a serious moment |
Fred "flies" through her project |
Debbie and Winn having quite a few laughs over some racy jokes! :) |
Kim is caught (once again) on camera. Although she tried to dodge the camera, she was slowed down due to her ankle injury, which required the use of crutches. |
Obviously in pain, which affected her normally sunny disposition, she is caught on camera telling the poor photographer to "back off, or I'll beat you with my crutch!" |
While one picture of Debbie and Winn was fine, two pictures were more than they could bear. Here is Winn telling the harried photographer to "Back off, lady!" |
Debbie's approach to "back off" was much more unique.....will bribery work??? |

Thankfully, most guild members simply tolerated the picture taking intrusions during the evening with a "grin and bear it" attitude! (Just kidding ladies.....you were ALL great!) |
Show and Tell began with Fred's award-winning Family Tree quilt. |
This quilt was inspired by a recent family reunion, and she incorporated the towns the families live in, signature blocks, and the sites seen in the area of the reunion |
Fred even included the many methods of transportation which were used by family members to arrive at the reunion. |

Joann models a jacket and matching bag made for a recent vacation |
This guild member finished her wallhanging project begun in Linda Poole's workshop! Way to go! |
This redwork quilt, which many saw while being worked on at retreat, is finally finished! |
A closer view of all the work involved in this beauty. |
